New: Tactical Repeater Systems: Extending the Range of Handheld Radios
At the AUSA show in Washington, DC, our McDowell Research brand introduced the MRC-200A and MRC-200H Portable Tactical Repeater Systems.
The systems are designed for portability and first-responder use with multi-band handheld radios. The "A" model uses the Thales MBITR AN/PRC-148 radio; the "H" model uses the Harris® FALCON III® AN/PRC-152 radio.
In addition to greatly extending the range of a handheld radioeffectively providing performance comparable to a manpack radioboth models provide greater bandwidth coverage than all other commercial repeaters (30-512 MHz).

New: Tactical Link Repeater System: Extending Radio System Interoperability
At the AUSA show in Washington, DC, our McDowell Research brand introduced the MRC-200AL Portable Tactical Link Repeater System (TLRS).
Designed to enable fast deployment of mobile, mission-critical communications, the TLRS uses the Thales MBITR AN/PRC-148 radio.
The TLRS provides the same repeater capabilities as the MRC-200A, with the added feature of linking two or more repeater networks or a repeater network and a base station.

Ultralife Places High in $1M Wearable Power Competition
Ultralife Corporation has been awarded fourth place in the Wearable Power Prize System Competition, the Pentagon-sponsored contest recently held at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California to invent the most lightweight and long-lasting power system worn by soldiers in the field.
Although fuel-cell systems took the top three positions in the overall competition, Ultralife finished first among the battery-system entries with the only battery to pass both bench and field testing.
As a worldwide competition, nearly 170 teams competed, including those from universities and foreign-owned companies.
